1. Agreement
By accessing or using NoteMate (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility & Account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and comply with applicable laws.
3. The Service
NoteMate helps users record classes, generate transcripts and summaries, and interact with AI for study support.
We do not store raw audio recordings. Audio is processed in-memory to produce text outputs. We may store transcripts, summaries, and chat messages so you can access them later.
4. Acceptable Use
- Do not break the law or violate the rights of others.
- Do not upload content you do not have the right to use.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse engineer the Service.
- Do not use the Service to generate harmful, illegal, or abusive content.
5. Credits, Billing & Refunds
Some features require credits. When you send chat messages or process audio, credits may be consumed. Payment processing is handled by a third-party provider (e.g., Stripe). Except where required by law, purchases are non-refundable.
6. AI Output Disclaimer
AI-generated outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for verifying outputs before relying on them. The Service is provided for educational assistance and convenience only.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by NoteMate and protected by intellectual property laws. You retain rights to content you provide, subject to the licenses necessary to operate the Service (e.g., to process and store your transcripts/summaries and to provide AI responses).
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if required for security or legal reasons. You may stop using the Service at any time.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, NoteMate is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenues arising from your use of the Service.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
